Yoga Beyond the Mat

Yoga Mitra Mandal teaches a holistic integration of physical postures, breathing practices, and progressive meditation techniques.

We are a small all-volunteer community organization, also called Yoga MM, based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

We welcome students of all levels who are interested in learning about yoga "Beyond the Mat”. We integrate yoga techniques taught in class into our daily lives to find solutions for many of the issues we all face in the modern world, such as:

  • Dealing with stress and anxiety

  • Managing emotions

  • Improving relationships

  • Improved health

  • Managing disease

Our Schedule

Our approach is practical, suited to students of all levels of practice. Each session combines physical postures, breathing and meditation. We maintain a strong connection to the deep philosophies and insights of experienced teachers through the ages.

At present, we offer three online sessions every week.

Past Seminars

We also invite experienced senior teachers periodically for live seminars in Indianapolis. Their deep knowledge is communicated in a practical, methodical and interesting way.

Our Yoga in Practice

Yoga Mitra Mandal holds monthly meetings to develop and enhance our personal Yoga practice. This is guided by the expertise of our senior teachers who bring their knowledge and experience to the Indianapolis community 1-2 times every year.

New students gain a systematic methodology for improving health, emotional balance and stress relief. Returning students are inspired by the opportunity to deepen their practice, and delve into the depth and breadth of the Yogic lifestyle.

All participants go home with a toolbox of yoga routines, and make a personal connection with the energy and charisma of our teachers. Our seminars have been very well received all.

 Reduce the Noise

Yoga Mitra Mandal welcomes students of all levels who are ready to integrate yoga into daily life to find solutions to modern struggles like stress and anxiety, emotional management, relationship improvement, and physical health.
